Kroos reportedly rejects Real Madrid extension offer for one key reason

Real Madrid have made Toni Kroos an extension offer but the German rejected it, Cadena SER report.

Kroos doesn't want to extend his contract, at least not now. The midfielder wants to wait until next year to see the level of his performances and his role on the team. The 32-year-old doesn't want to become a burden for the club.

He prefers to postpone the decision until later. Kroos's current contract expires in 2023.

Real Madrid are surprised by the refusal because they made it clear they count on Toni.

Back in May, the player hinted that he might be close to retirement.

Kroos was a key player during the 2021/22 season, contributing with 3 goals and 3 assists in 44 matches (39 starts).
