Laporta: 'If our situation requires selling a big player, we're ready for that'

"If our financial situation requires the sale of an important player, we are ready for that," Joan Laporta has told the media, possibly referring to the potential Frenkie de Jong sale.

"Next Thursday, If the members agree on selling our assets, there will be good news and we will get over a large part of the economic crisis," he also said during the interview.

Earlier, Barcelona's financial chief stated that no big sales were planned as they only depended on decisions made by the coaching staff.

De Jong's Barca exit still remains a likely outcome, with Manchester United reportedly leading the way for the 25-year-old's signature.
