Ten Hag 'stunned' by Timber's reluctance to join him at United

Erik ten Hag has been left stunned by seeing Jurrien Timber be unwilling to join him at Man United, claims the Mirror.

The Dutchman had hoped to sign his ex-Ajax defender but is now set to miss out on him.

There’s a belief that Louis van Gaal’s warning that he will only select players who are actively playing for his Netherlands squad at the World Cup might’ve spooked Timber.

Jurrien was unsure about his capability of being a regular at Old Trafford due to the presence of Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire.

Ten Hag is now pushing United to seal the signing of Frenkie de Jong as he’s desperate to work with his ex-Ajax player at Old Trafford.
