UEFA president Ceferin: 'The Super League is dead because nobody wants to participate in it'

Speaking about rumours of the Super League project being revived, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I will say that UEFA is not a monopoly.

“You are free to be in it or not. You can participate in our cups or organise your own. But then, it's logical that you don't play in ours, isn't it?

“Whatever the decision of the court, nothing changes - the Super League is dead because nobody wants to participate. I only see three people angry with everyone, taking everyone to court.”

Real Madrid, along with Barcelona and Juventus, are among the few clubs still associated with the Super League project that started and ended last year.

The Super League clubs are still trying to come up with a definite plan to revive it, but are determined to get it underway in order to provide stiff competition to UEFA as well as their competitions.
