United close to making Antony first signing in Ten Hag era

Man United are on the verge of signing Ajax star Antony as their first acquisition for Erik ten Hag, claims the Sun’s Neil Custis.

The Red Devils are ready to pay £40m for the Brazilian winger and their representatives will fly to Amsterdam on Tuesday to close the deal.

While the Sun might come off as an unreliable source, Custis is the most reliable journalist from the outlet and is known to have sources within the club being a regular match-going reporter.

Ten Hag wants to sign some ex-players for his rebuild at United and has seemingly turned his attention to Antony after being rejected by Jurrien Timber.

The Brazilian winger enjoyed a prolific campaign for Ajax last season, scoring 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 33 appearances.
