Valbuena Gives Brilliant Response When Asked If Benzema Deserves To Win TheBallon d'Or

Talking to RMC, Mathieu Valbuena was asked whether Karim Benzema deserved the Ballon d'Or this year.

"It would be dishonest to say that Benzema does not deserve the Ballon d'Or," Valbuena said.

"Yes, he deserves it. I can speak objectively on a sporting level and I can do it happily. There is no problem."

What makes this answer special is the fact that Valbuena and Benzema had a legal battle not that long ago as part of the sex-tape case. However, it appears that Mathieu does not hold a grudge against the Real Madrid striker.

In the 2021/22 season, Benzema recorded 44 goals and 15 assists in 46 matches while winning the La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Super Cup.
