Barcelona plan to offer Riqui Puig an extension before loaning him out this summer, Diario Sport's Ivan San Antonio reports.
The midfielder's current contract runs until 2023, meaning that sending him out on loan without signing an extension would imply losing him for free next summer.
At the moment, the most interested teams in Puig are Fiorentina and Benfica. The player is open to a departure.
Barca do not want to lose control of Riqui, although they reckon that the best option for him is to gain experience somewhere else. Xavi doesn't count on the 23-year-old, at least not for the current season.
