Tier-one journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Frenkie de Jong is travelling with the Barcelona squad for their upcoming pre-season tour in the United States.
This is despite the Catalan giants' agreement with Manchester United to sell Frenkie for a fee of €75 million plus €10 million in add-ons.
The Dutch midfielder is still refusing to leave Barcelona amid his stand-off with the club over unpaid wages worth €17 million.
This leaves United in a weird position - we have completed an agreement with Barcelona but cannot really celebrate it.
It's unclear what the Red Devils will do about this situation, considering Erik ten Hag's eagerness to sign De Jong.
As things stand though, the 25-year-old has shown no intention to leave Barca. And now that he's travelled for pre-season with the Spanish side, perhaps it's high time for United to find other options.
