Gabriel Jesus targets Premier League glory after leaving Manchester City for Arsenal

Speaking to TNT Sports, Gabriel Jesus said: "I always like projects in my life, I like to do things not only thinking about today, but thinking about the long term. I came here not to stay one or two seasons, but to stay five.

"So that's my thought. That's why I chose to come to Arsenal, a very big club in England, where they have a very beautiful history, and who unfortunately is dormant a little bit. So that also counted, I have this challenge of winning.

"Coming to a club that haven't won a league for a long time and that has been improving every year. The decision was also very important. I'm still in the same league, country environment, so that helps a lot.

"And in an environment where there are many young people, everyone talks, everyone laughs, everyone has fun together. There are Brazilians, there's Mikel Arteta, there's [sporting director] Edu, people from the staff that I worked with.

"So this part is very important, the way the players welcomed me here is also important, it counted a lot. And, well, I'm happy to be here, for the start of this pre-season. And I believe that it is still nothing of what is to come."

Jesus left Manchester City earlier this summer, joining Arsenal on a five-year contract with Pep Guardiola's side receiving a transfer fee of £45 million.

The Gunners missed out on the Champions League place last season but Arteta will be targetting a top-four finish next year after an impressive summer transfer campaign.
