Some of the best football players in the world are eating seaweed in order to stay in the best shape possible.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema are thriving at the top level despite being well into their 30s.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, their success on and off the pitch is partly down to a special 'super strict' that features seaweed as a staple.
Seaweed is full of Spirulina, which has a 70 percent protein count. It also contains Chlorella, which has a 60 percent protein count and can 'help slow down ageing'.
Private chef to the stars Alberto Mastromatteo said: "Spirulina and Chlorella contain great nutritional value. With a small amount you get a lot of vegetable protein, which the body synthesizes even better than animal protein."
