Frenkie de Jong remains central to Erik ten Hag’s plans for Man United, as per reliable insider Andy Mitten.
There is no Plan B in case a deal isn’t done, as the Red Devils want to sign only the Dutchman and nobody else in that holding midfield role.
That means Ten Hag is currently not even considering any alternatives to the Barcelona midfielder because he believes there are no suitable options.
The Dutch gaffer is looking to sign a holding midfield player and believes De Jong can be a perfect fit for his system at Old Trafford.
While United have agreed a fee with Barca for the midfielder, the 24-year-old is yet to agree personal terms with them and is refusing to move.
