When asked about how he perceives the quality of Man United’s youth academy and players like Zidane Iqbal coming out of it, Erik ten Hag said: “I have said it before, Manchester United has huge potential.
“Really good players experienced players but also a lot of young guys, young boys who have a lot of potentials. We have to get the potential out so now we have to work really hard.
“Man United is famous about it and Marcus Rashford here is, I think a symbol of the Academy of Manchester United and more upcoming talents who come after.”
Ten Hag gave a lot of youngsters an opportunity to impress in the win over Liverpool, including Iqbal and Charlie Savage.
He’s likely to give them more chances in the next friendlies before deciding which ones are worthy enough to keep in the Premier League squad.
