Xavi pressured Barca to keep Dembele: latest Ousmane extension update

Ousmane Dembele's extension at Barcelona is at full speed, according to the highly-reliable Matteo Moretto of Relevo.

The Catalans did not make the winger a new offer. Instead, he is going to accept Barca's old offer of €6.5m per season with a deal until 2024.

Xavi was key in making the extension possible. The coach put a lot of pressure on the club's board to continue the negotiations with Dembele.

It's also been reported previously that Ousmane decided to accept the offered terms despite his agent's wishes. Back in winter, his entourage insisted on a pay raise and a signing bonus of €40m.
