According to Gianluca di Marzio, a tier-one Italian reporter, Serie A club Bologna have rejected Manchester United's opening bid worth €8 million - €9 million for striker Marko Arnautovic.
The former West Ham man played with Erik ten Hag at FC Twente, prompting the boss to turn to him in time of need.
Bologna may have turned down the offer but Arnautovic, 33, is reportedly eager to join United. The Italian club may ask United to increase the bid, especially given our current situation.
The Red Devils are desperate to sign a new striker following an injury to Anthony Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo's uncertain future.
Arnautovic, meanwhile, scored 15 goals and assisted once in 34 appearances across competitions last season.
