Ajax are seeking a replacement for winger Antony, who wants to leave for Manchester United.
However, De Telegraaf are reporting that Chelsea are seeking a significant fee for Ziyech.
The Stamford Bridge club need funds to complete their own incoming transfers.
They are presently demanding €44 million for Ziyech, who is turning 30 soon.
Such a figure would put him out of reach for Ajax, who had hoped for a loan or a cut price fee.
