Players with the most Man of the Match awards per season, Messi's on another level
No other player has received the Man of the Match award more times than Lionel Messi.
The PSG forward has dominated global football awards over the past 13 years. And out of that, Messi won the most MotM honours in at least eight seasons.
The list below features 20 best seasons for players ranked by MotM awards won. Messi features 11 times out of 20 while Cristiano Ronaldo makes it four times.
As seen in the screenshot above, Messi won 34 awards in 40 appearances in the 2014/15 season. That was the time Barcelona won the Treble, winning La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
