'You're exploiting his worst attributes': Some fans blame Xavi for how he's using Ronald Araujo

Some Barcelona fans were unimpressed with Ronald Araujo at right-back against Rayo Vallecano.

They believe it only makes sense to play the Uruguayan on the right in big games like Clasicos.

"That's why we were using Dani Alves as an inverted full-back (...). We had no Alves in the Europa League and thus struggled with Dest/Mingueza. Araujo's terrible positioning yesterday [v Rayo] was making it really hard to build out from the back," user TracePoland writes on Reddit.

"I have no clue why start Araujo as a right back. If he is not needed to defend against a star like Vini or Mbappe, I don't see the point of playing him at right back. You're exploiting his worst attributes as a player," Usi22 replies.

Araujo's average performance as a full-back is probably the reason why Barca reportedly have restarted their search of a right wing-back.
