Chelsea reportedly planning to end 'loan army' system under Boehly

According to journalist Adam Newson, Chelsea are trying to move to a new strategy of managing the squad.

They will try to sell players who are considered not going enough instead of keeping them at the club and sending them out on loans.

Over the years, Chelsea have managed a 'loan army': a big number of players on long-term deals with the club who are regularly sent out to other clubs.

In the 2016/17 season, the Blues had 38 players out on loan. This term, 22 players across the first team and the U21 side have been sent out to other clubs, including Chelsea's record signing Romelu Lukaku.
