'It’s absolutely crazy': Anthony Gordon breaks silence on Chelsea's attempt to sign him

“That’s football nowadays – it’s absolutely crazy," Everton's Antony Gordon was quoted by Metro.

"Personally, I don’t think any player is worth that amount of money but I’m also not going to talk myself down.

"Because the place [Everton] is so good, it’s not a place where I’m devastated because I have to stay.

"That’s never been the case. I was never desperate to leave Everton. It was definitely not the case."

Chelsea made a bid worth £60m for Gordon this summer but Everton rejected it after Frank Lampard insisted the player was absolutely vital to his team.

The Englishman is considered one of the most talented forwards in the country. However, he's highly rated for his intense work rate.
