Key stat shows how Xhaka is having a better attacking impact this season

Granit Xhaka has had an impressive start to the season with Arsenal. He’s registered 3 assists and scored a goal in 7 appearances, despite playing in midfield.

As per The Athletic, the Swiss midfielder has made a better attacking impact for the Gunners this season.

Xhaka has registered 0.14 goals and 0.43 assists per 90 this season in seven appearances, as compared to 0.04 goals and 0.07 assists last season.

He’s also had 3.58 touches in the penalty area per game, as compared to 0.32 in the last campaign.

The midfielder is playing in a more attacking role for the Gunners this season, playing with Martin Odegaard as a no.8.

He’s become a pivotal part of Mikel Arteta’s side and if the stats prove anything, Xhaka should continue playing in this role this season.
