Speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo being benched for the majority of Man United’s games this season, David de Gea told BT Sport: “He's never been in this situation before, but the way he trains every day 100 per cent.
“And the way he takes care of his mind and body is unbelievable. It's something else. This is why he scored the winner today, he does a lot for the team. It's not an easy time for him, but he showed he's a great player.”
Ronaldo scored his first goal in the Premier League this season against Everton, helping his side get back to winning ways in the league.
Cristiano will have to work hard and continue scoring goals consistently to regain his starting role in Erik ten Hag’s side.
