Speaking about Arsenal’s backline and their performances this season, Roy Keane told Sky Sports: “They’re playing with confidence, even the game they lost to Manchester United they played quite well but it was just one of those days.
“They’ve got a bit of physicality in the team, they’ve got two centre halves. I know they’ve got a mistake in them but there’s that physical presence.”
Arsenal have maintained a very strong defensive record this season, with William Saliba being a standout with his performances. The Gunners have kept 3 clean sheets and the joint-second-best defensive record, conceding 10 goals from 9 games.
While there are some occasional errors in the backline, Mikel Arteta has formed a really solid defensive shape that has helped his side soar to the top of the Premier League table.
