Revealed: staggering amount of money Man United had to pay to departing managers since 2013

Manchester United had to spend millions and millions on severance packages for departing managers and their staff since 2013.

There have been five permanent bosses at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson left, and all of them ended up with a nice compensation.

According to The Athletic, David Moyes received a severance package of £4.9 million while his successor Louis van Gaal was awarded £8.4 million.

Jose Mourinho's mammoth severance package amounted to £19.6 million (including payouts to his staff) while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick earned a combined £24.7 million.
