"Christopher Vivell will join Chelsea as technical director after he left RB Leipzig, where he was employed in the same role," The credible Matt Law has said.
Chelsea met with Vivell earlier this week to discuss the possible move.
Earlier on Friday, Leipzig announced that they have parted ways with Vivell for contrasting views with the club.
The 35-year-old transfer guru is responsible for bringing players such as Josko Gvardiol, Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea targets), Ademola Lookman, Dani Olmo and Andre Silva to Leipzig.
His arrival will relieve Chelsea owner from transfer duties with Vivell set to become the new Marina Granovaskia.
