On Sunday, Premier League reporter Ben Jacobs wrote on Twitter: "Arsenal go back to the top after an excellent win at Chelsea.
"Gabriel with the only goal but Gunners a class above Chelsea despite the narrow scoreline. William Saliba outstanding.
"Chelsea too passive and lacked balance and identity. Arsenal’s win again underlines they are genuine title contenders."
Arsenal, who lost their spot at the top of the Premier League table to Manchester City on Saturday, reclaimed it after beating Chelsea on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta will be looking to go into the World Cup as top-flight leaders by beating Wolves away at the weekend in the final game before the break.
