Karim Benzema has been invited by Lyon to kick off the game between Lyon and Nice on Friday, per RMC Sport.
The French striker is expected to showcase his Ballon d'Or award before the match begins at the home of his former club.
Benzema played 148 games for Lyon between 2005 and 2009 when he joined Real Madrid. He scored 66 goals for the French outfit.
Lyon considers Benzema one of the biggest exports and they often refer to him as a son of OL.
