In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Marcos Alonso said he hoped to continue at Barcelona for a few more years. However, the left-back revealed that there were no official talks regarding a new contract just yet.
"There is nothing yet. I'm very happy and what happens from now on depends on the club, but I'm going to fight to stay here and help the team," Alonso said.
The defender's current deal expires at the end of the season. As per reports, the Catalans want to offer him a new contract until 2025.
This term so far, Alonso has played 11 games (8 starts) for Barca and has scored a goal. Xavi has used him as both a left-back and centre-back.
