Barca 'closely monitoring' Portugal World Cup star Goncalo Ramos – but there's one big problem

Barcelona have been closely monitoring Goncalo Ramos at the World Cup, according to Diario Sport.

Ramos bamboozled everyone watching the World Cup when he replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in the playoff game against Switzerland and scored a hat-trick in Portugal's 6-1 win.

Before Ramos, no player had scored a hat-trick in a World Cup knockout game for 32 years. In fact, no player at the ongoing World Cup has registered a hat-trick before the 21-year-old.

Last summer, Benfica were open to selling Ramos, but only PSG showed serious interest, per Fabrizio Romano.

However, no one, including the Parisians, was willing to pay the €45m price tag placed on his head, as Portuguese top reporter Pedro Sepulveda told Sky Sports.

Whether Barcelona are interested as Sport claims or not, the big problem is that Ramos' value has skyrocketed from whatever it was before the game against Switzerland.

In fact, Ramos has a buyout clause of €120m and you can guess that Benfica would want around that figure to let him go, or even higher.
