Brazil Legend Pele Passes Away Aged 82

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele, passed away at the age of 82, Associated Press confirmed.

Last week, it was announced that Pele's cancer had advanced and that he was under 'elevated care' related to 'kidney and cardiac dysfunctions.'

The legendary Brazilian is viewed as one of the best players in the history of football.

He is still the only player to have won the World Cup three times: in 1958, 1962 and 1970.

In 2000, Pele was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the Century, along with Diego Maradona.
