Eden Hazard retires from international football at the age of 31

Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from international football after 14 years.

The Real Madrid forward made the announcement on Instagram with a statement that reads:

"A page turns today… Thank you for your love. Thank you for your unparalleled support.

"Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008.

"Today I decided to put an end to my career as an international. The next generation is ready. I'm going to miss you so much.

Hazard played 126 games for Belgium between 2008 and 2022 scoring 33 goals. The highlight of his international career came in 2018 when he was named second-best player at the World Cup and Belgium finished third.

However, Hazard's career has gone downhill since he joined Real Madrid in 2019 due to injuries and a lack of playing time.

Regardless, he will always be remembered as a Belgian legend.
