Former African champions, Zambia have appointed Avram Grant as their new coach on a two-year deal.
The ex-Ghana and Chelsea boss replaces Aljona Asanovic, who left his role in September.
Former Zambia international Moses Sichone has been acting as interim manger but will return to his position as assistant.
"I was looking for the right challenge and that's why I chose Zambia," Grant said at a press conference in Lusaka as quoted by the BBC.
"I came here because of the challenge and I hope when I leave here I will look around and say we did a good job and made a good foundation for the future.
"I think Zambia has the potential, we have set the targets of what we want to achieve."
Grant has experience coaching on the continent, leading Ghana to two Africa Cup of Nations. He was in charge of the team that reached the final of the tournament in 2015 before finishing fourth two years later.
