Manchester United have penned an 81-word farewell message to Cristiano Ronaldo days after each went their ways.
The Premier League giants terminated Ronaldo's contract during the World Cup, with the club announcing at the time the decision had been reached after a mutual agreement.
CBS Sports reported that United took the drastic step only days after the veteran striker's explosive interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.
The Portuguese star hit out directly at the club and its leadership during the tell-it-all interview as he took aim at United boss Erik ten Hag .
"Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect," said the club in a statement," the club announced at the time.
Daily Mail reported that United printed out a cold 81-word farewell to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner in the matchday programme for the Burnley clash but there was no mention of the star forward in Ten Hag's notes.
