Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly rejected Lionel Messi's request to parade the World Cup trophy at the Parc Des Princes.
Reports indicate that PSG are concerned about the possible feelings the ceremony could evoke in Kylian Mbappe.
Messi inspired Argentina to beat Mbappe's France in the World Cup final on December 18th.
Both PSG forwards starred with Mbappe's hat trick eventually proving not to be enough to win back-to-back world titles.
Messi scored twice but finished behind Mbappe in the Golden Boot rankings. He was however awarded the Golden Ball award.
The club is wary of parading the trophy in the same country he beat to win it plus what Mbappe could feel about the whole spectacle.
Argentina's celebrations have been overzealous in nature with Mbappe savagely targeted by both players and fans. Mbappe and PSG share a tricky relationship he nearly left for Real Madrid last season The rumours are back that he might just force a move away in January.
