Man City fans boo Premier League anthem after charge for financial rules

 

After Man City had been charged for allegedly breaching financial rules, fans discussed the idea of booing the league anthem.

And the Etihad faithful made their feelings known ahead of kick-off on Sunday as they jeered the anthem whilst both teams lined up.

A video has surfaced online showing supporters booing the anthem before defiantly chanting 'CITEH, CITEH, CITEH!'

The booing of the anthem got people talking on social media.

One tweeted: "Those boos were the loudest I’ve heard the Man city fans at Eithad for a while."

A second joked: "Is there an Anthem that Man City doesn’t boo?"

A third questioned: "How can Man City fans boo the Premier League anthem as if its an injustice what they’re going through."
