'Playing in this team is easy': Joao Felix on West Ham draw and his first goal for Chelsea

"We did enough to win, but it's football," Joao Felix told Chelsea's in-house media after the West Ham draw.

They defended well. The first 30 minutes, we scored three goals — two didn't count — but we were there. We had the chances to score.

"Playing in this team with such a quality is easy. We will connect well, and when that happens, it will go well. Unfortunately we didn't get the three points, but for sure in the next game.

"[Scoring my first Chelsea goal] means a lot. This one-month stoppage was difficult for me, I just wanted to play. Today was the day and I scored my first goal for this club. It's a huge happiness.

"I love the atmosphere here in the Premier League. This derby, as you all know, is difficult to play [in]. But I did really enjoy it.

"Let's focus on the next game, the most important game is always the next, always. It's the Champions League, a competition we want to win. It starts on Wednesday and needs to be hours."

Joao Felix opened his goalscoring record for Chelsea against West Ham with a one-touch finish from Enzo Fernandez's cross.

Unfortunately, that was not enough for the Blues as they conceded at the end of the first half and could not take the lead again.
