Video Chelsea fans booing Marc Cucurella off in 1-1 draw vs West Ham
Before Chelsea's 1-1 draw with West Ham United on Saturday, Graham Potter spoke about the form of Marc Cucurella.
The Spaniard is the most expensive full-back in history after joining in a deal worth in excess of £60 million from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Despite being a mega-money signing, Cucurella has really struggled for form in a Chelsea shirt.
He's had plenty of game time due to Ben Chilwell's injury issues, but really hasn't got going - even under Potter's rule.
Before the West Ham game, the Chelsea boss said he understood the fans' frustration, however, he also hinted at issues in Cucurella's private life.
“They are human beings and have private lives, Marc isn’t the only one,” Potter said. “You understand the supporters [on their criticism of Cucurella], they pay the money. But you have to deal with stuff. He’s fine, he’s going about his work, he knows he’s not in the best moment of form.”
Chelsea fans at the London Stadium weren't in a forgiving mood with regards to Cucurella, though.
When the full-back was replaced by Chilwell in the second half, some supporters chose to direct boos at him.
