How Xavi plans to set up Barca midfield for El Clasico in De Jong's absence – explained

Barcelona are likely to miss Frenkie de Jong in the second leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

As per Catalunya Radio, Xavi plans to stick with a four-man midfield that helped his side win the reverse fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Even though Pedri and De Jong are both unavailable, he’ll play Franck Kessie and Sergi Roberto in their places.

Sergio Busquets will start as the deepest midfielder, with Gavi operating as a false left-winger.

The Blaugrana have defeated Madrid in their last three El Clasico games and will aim to do the same on Wednesday to book a place in the Copa Del Rey final.
