Jamie Carragher hosted his first live show for CBS Sports in role swap with Kate Abdo

Jamie Carragher swapped roles with Kate Abdo on CBS Sports' coverage last night and it was as entertaining as you would imagine.

Liverpool legend Carragher is one of the American channel's main pundits for the Champions League 'Golazo' show, alongside Micah Richards and Thierry Henry.

Kate Abdo presents all the analysis and entertainment, which is completely different to any other football programme out there and is always a load of fun.

But Carragher tried his hand at anchoring on Wednesday night, with Abdo taking on his punditry position in a role refersal.

After a break, the former England defender was in hotseat addressing the viewers by saying, "Welcome back to London town, a bit like Chelsea, Lady Abdo has been a bit disjointed tonight".

He tripped over his words and you could hear that trademark Richards cackle in the background as he read from the autocue.

But then Carragher did get it together somewhat and asked Abdo for her thoughts on the Champions League semi-finals between AC Milan and Inter Milan and Manchester City and Real Madrid.

It's fair to say that Abdo, who is fluent in multiple languages, fared better imitating Carragher than he did doing his best impression of her and showed why she is one of the very best in the business.

Everyone loves the light-hearted approach taken with the CBS show and once again fans couldn't get enough.

One wrote: "Carra is actually enjoying this punditry more than he enjoyed football in his playing days."

A second stated: "Best footballing panel out there."

Another added: "Best panel of pundits on the planet."

A fourth user weighed in: "I love these guys, @kate_abdo is definitely one of the best hosts out here."

A fifth made a huge prediction, writing: "These man are going to sign the biggest football punditry deal when its renegotiation time."

Carragher's hysterics follow up his hilarious attempt to interview AC Milan star Rafael Leao, who could not understand his thick scouse accent.

He tried his best and elected to repeat his question but by calling Inter by their full name - Internazionale. The whole studio erupted in laughter and Richards was in actual tears.
