Luke Shaw's update provides injury relief to Manchester United ahead of FA Cup semi-final against Brighton
Manchester United must bounce back quickly from their humbling defeat to Sevilla with Erik ten Hag's side in FA Cup action this weekend.
United suffered an embarrassing 5-2 aggregate defeat to Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League after losing the second leg in Spain 3-0 on Thursday night.
Calamitous errors from Harry Maguire and David de Gea cost United, who badly missed suspended vice-captain Bruno Fernandes and injured duo Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.
To make matters worse for United, several players picked up injuries in the defeat.
Anthony Martial limped off with his seventh injury of the season, while Luke Shaw also sustained a knock but was able to finish the match.
The injury to Shaw will have been most concerning for Ten Hag ahead of Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Brighton.
United have just one senior centre-back available for the match - Victor Lindelof - with Martinez and Varane ruled out through injury and Maguire suspended for the game.
Shaw gives positive injury update
Shaw has filled in at centre-back already this season and is expected to start alongside Lindelof in central defence, if passed fit.
Luckily for United, the England international looks set to be fine.
After leaving the changing rooms at the end of the defeat to Sevilla, Shaw told The United Stand: "I'm good."
Ten Hag has confirmed both Shaw and Martial would be properly assessed on Friday.
"It's difficult, in this moment, we have to wait," he told the club's website.
"We have to see tomorrow and then we return to England and then we can make up the bill from today, what happened, and then, yeah, we can look forward to the game on Sunday and then we will see which team we can pick."
