Ranking the Longest-Serving Players in the Top Five European Leagues
The players with the most loyalty in Europe's top five leagues have been revealed, and it might be the first time Karim Benzema and Seamus Coleman have been side by side in a stat.
One of them only recently won the Ballon d'Or, and it certainly isn't Coleman, an award that has actually earned him a final year at Real Madrid.
The forward with the still bandaged hand is hoping to help lead his side to another Champions League title, after they dispatched Chelsea in the quarterfinals.
They will have to beat Manchester City in the semi-finals to have a chance, but it's certainly closer than Coleman is to any silverware.
The Everton full back on the other hand will be too busy concentrating on helping his side remain a Premier League side, with relegation very much a possibility.
Their plight is so bad at the moment that they even lost to a National League North side in a behind closed doors friendly this week, not a great look.
However, even if their careers have been very different when it comes to success, they are both right next to each other when it comes to loyalty.
According to Transfermarkt, the two are in the top 10 when it comes to the longest serving players in Europe's top five leagues, although nowhere close to Sergio Busquets at the top.
Busquets has been at Barcelona for the entirety of his senior career, joining the club in 2005, at the age of just 14-years-old, before playing for Pep Guardiola's Barcelona B side.
He has made 716 appearances for the club in the 15 seasons he's played for the senior team, and won a whole trophy cabinet or two full of competitions.
The 34-year-old has eight La Ligas to his name, along with seven Copa del Reys, three Champions Leagues and three Club World Cups.
However, he may soon be off the list, with the midfielder's contract at the Nou Camp set to expire in the summer, once the current campaign ends.
There has been some talk that he could stay on, if Lionel Messi moves back to the club from PSG, but he could also be leaving instead.
According to reports, a club in Saudi Arabia want to bring him to the Middle East and he could earn £16 million-a-year to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
