AC Milan's Champions League hopes take a hit as Rafael Leao suffers injury

Just days before their Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter, AC Milan suffered a blow as Rafael Leao was forced to limp off during their match against Lazio on Saturday.

AC Milan's prospects have taken a sour turn, with Leao being compelled to exit the match against Lazio after just 12 minutes due to an injury.

The setback has left the Serie A side fretting over the winger's availability for the upcoming colossal European semi-final encounter against their arch-rivals Inter, and the wait to ascertain his fitness status continues.

With Napoli being declared as champions of Serie A, Milan's only shot at glory this season rests on their Champions League campaign. However, they now confront the possibility of playing without their key player in the semi-finals.

Leao, who has contributed 13 goals and 13 assists across all competitions this season, may not be available for the crucial tie.

Milan is presently in a battle to secure a top-four finish in Serie A, with Inter posing as their principal challengers. In addition to this, they are also scheduled to play the first leg of the semi-final on Wednesday.
