Chelsea fans fume over decision to leave Carney Chukwuemeka out of the squad

This season, Chelsea has experienced a state of disorganization, as they are currently positioned in the lower half of the Premier League standings with only four games remaining.

Chelsea supporters expressed their disappointment before their crucial match against Bournemouth today upon learning that their interim manager Frank Lampard had once again excluded 19-year-old Carney Chukwuemeka from the squad.

Despite limited opportunities for the teenager, Carney Chukwuemeka has emerged as one of the few positive aspects of Chelsea's season, having displayed impressive performances mostly as a substitute.

After signing Carney Chukwuemeka to a six-year contract in 2022 from Aston Villa, Chelsea decided not to loan him out, opting instead to include him in the first team. This gave fans the impression that Chukwuemeka would be gradually integrated into the team.

However, despite Chelsea's underwhelming performances this season, Carney Chukwuemeka has not been given a significant number of games in the first team, contrary to the expectation of fans who anticipated his gradual inclusion.

Out of Carney Chukwuemeka's 11 league appearances this season, only two of them were as a starter. Based on the limited chances that Chelsea supporters have seen him play, they believe that he deserves more game time.

One fan on Twitter said: "I know he scored but Gallagher is so poor man…Wish we would get to see Chukwuemeka"

Another fan raged at Frank Lampard's decisions saying: 32 year old Ziyech with his PSG socks is on instead of 23 year old João Felix or 18 year old Carney Chukwuemeka. He didn't even make the bench. Frank Lampard you literally could not be doing a worse job.

A different Chelsea fan has also seemingly urged the club to play more youngsters, saying: "Chelsea pre season should begin now. All players like Mudryk, Hall, Badiashile, Madueke, Chukwuemeka, and Fofana should be given more minutes. We have nothing to lose."

Following a successful 3-1 victory against Bournemouth, Chelsea is currently placed 11th in the Premier League standings. However, the club's chances of securing a spot in European football for next season have been dashed, and they are now playing for pride in their remaining four games of the season.
