FC Barcelona Fans Fear the Worst as Golden Boy Gavi Picks Up Injury in Osasuna Clash

The midfielder came off for Ansu Fati after suffering a muscle injury in the 1-0 win over Osasuna.

For a second, with just fifteen minutes on the clock, it only looked as though Gavi was holding his upper leg/lower abdomen as he had taken a hit where it hurts the most.

However, the player could not continue shortly after his first motions of pain, cameras picked up the player holding his groin in Barcelona’s 1-0 win against Osasuna at Camp Nou.

He was substituted off on around 30 minutes, with Ansu Fati taking his place on the left wing, with Barcelona going from Xavi’s preferred four midfielders to a more traditional 4-3-3 setup. Gavi had run around like he does, in a crazt, Scrappy Doo like fashion, asking for a fight before realising he’s talking to the corner flag.

What injury has Gavi got? When will he return?

Tests will be carried out tomorrow to determine the full extent of the suspected injury to his adductor on his inner thigh, although the first impressions do not make it appear like a serious injury, with the player being able to walk off the pitch and stay on the bench for the remainder of the game.

Barcelona have just 5 games left to seal the LaLiga title, and their next fixture is against Espanyol on 14 May. Gavi, if the signs remain positive as they currently are, might be ready to return.
