Jadon Sancho sends cheeky response to Aston Villa star Leon Bailey after Man Utd win

After securing three points in their pursuit for a Champions League spot, Jadon Sancho made it clear to Leon Bailey of Aston Villa who emerged victorious.

Last week was a rollercoaster for Manchester United, as they managed to secure a place in the FA Cup final with a penalty shootout win against Brighton on Sunday.

Despite taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Sancho and Marcus Rashford, Manchester United were unable to secure the victory and ended up settling for a draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

In addition to the on-field challenges, there were also off-field developments, including talks of a potential sale by the Glazers and protests by fans against the American owners ahead of the Villa match.

During the first half, Sancho displayed his frustration by telling the team captain, Bruno Fernandes, to stop complaining, which likely pleased fans of rival teams.

Sancho's annoyance with Fernandes may have dissipated when the attacking midfielder scored the lone goal of the game, providing the perfect opportunity for the wide forward to playfully taunt Bailey.

Prior to the match, Sancho had shared a post on Instagram expressing his desire to secure a victory. However, the Villa player responded to the post. Following the match, the English player gave his friend a knowing look.

Sancho and Bailey are likely familiar with each other from their time playing in Germany, with Sancho featuring for Borussia Dortmund and Bailey making his mark at Bayer Leverkusen.

Bailey made an impact in Emery's debut game as Aston Villa manager against Erik ten Hag's side, scoring within seven minutes of the match at Villa Park.

Following Bailey's early goal, Aston Villa went on to secure a 3-1 victory over their opponents, with Lucas Digne and Jacob Ramsey also scoring, although Ramsey also scored an own goal.

Aince that game, Aston Villa have established themselves as one of the top teams in the English Premier League and are currently in seventh place in the league standings, with only four games left to play.
