Rodrigo de Paul Draws Comparison Between Antoine Griezmann's Playing Style and Lionel Messi's

It is unsurprising to some of Antoine Griezmann's teammates that he is delivering some of his most outstanding performances this season.

The style of play exhibited by Antoine Griezmann was recently compared to that of an Argentine legend by Rodrigo De Paul, the midfielder from Argentina.

According to PSG Talk, de Paul highlighted a number of similarities between Griezmann's style of play and that of Lionel Messi.

“They play similarly. They play almost in the same position, free from the forwards. They are the ones that command the attack, and in that sense, in terms of position, they are very similar, yes,” he said.

Following his return to Atletico Madrid from Barcelona, the French forward has been having a brilliant season with his former club.

According to Transfermarkt, Griezmann has made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists up to this point.

Being the top assist provider in La Liga, the star of Les Bleus has demonstrated his immense value to the team.

With his contract not set to expire until 2026, Atletico Madrid is counting on Griezmann to maintain his exceptional form this season as they aim to secure a spot in the Champions League.

At the moment, Atletico Madrid trails Real Madrid by just two points with only six games remaining in the season. Meanwhile, Barcelona maintains an 11-point advantage over their fierce rivals and a 13-point lead over Diego Simeone's team in La Liga.
