The strict rule Marc Guiu and other Barcelona academy players must follow under Xavi
Barcelona starlet Marc Guiu has followed a strict rule alongside other La Masia stars at the club prior to scoring his first senior goal on Sunday.
The 17-year-old came off the bench against Athletic Bilbao before netting the winner on 80 minutes - just under a minute after he had entered the field.
It was an emotional moment for Guiu and his family, who were understandably emotional at seeing the youngster realise his dream of playing and scoring for Barcelona.
The Spaniard scored with what was his first shot in senior football to cap off a magical night.
Speaking to Esports 3 after the game, he explained: "This is unimaginable. I've been working all my life to take advantage of opportunities and it's come to me.
"I've dreamed of this moment for almost every night of my life. My team-mates told me to enjoy this moment. I won't be able to sleep tonight."
The goal marked Guiu's successful graduation from the club's famed La Masia academy.
He has had to follow some strict rules along the way - including a slightly bizarre hair regulation.
According to Spanish outlet AS (via Tribuna), La Masia players are prohibited from having hairstyles 'with flashy colours' - a regulation brought in by the club's director of youth football Jose Ramon Alexanko in 2021.
Mobile phones are also banned from the dressing room, during training session and matches, and phones must be submitted to a club delegate upon arrival at the training centre.
Stiff penalties, it is claimed, are applied if one of the La Masia youngsters falls foul of the rules.
But Sunday evening was nothing but positive for Guiu, who realised a childhood dream in making his first senior appearance for his boyhood club - and scoring the winning goal to cap it all off.
