Germany at Euro 2024: Teams in group, fixtures, schedule, path to final for hosts

Germany steps onto the pitch as Euro 2024 hosts, tasked with delivering a strong performance on home soil. Following a challenging year, head coach Julian Nagelsmann faces pressure to lead the team to glory.

Despite a coaching change in September 2023 after Hansi Flick's departure, the German FA has placed its trust in Nagelsmann with a contract extension until after the 2026 World Cup. While uncertainty lingers, Nagelsmann possesses a talented young squad, including Bundesliga stars Musiala and Wirtz, who offer a spark of excitement.

Germany Euro 2024 path to the final

If Germany progress as group winners they will face the runners-up from Group C, which comprises England, Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia.

Second place in Group A means a last-16 fixture against the corresponding team in Group B, which looks devilishly competitive. Holders Italy, three-time winners Spain and 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia will also face one another alongside outsiders Albania.

The four best third-placed teams will also advance to the knockout stages.
