Confirmed: Liverpoo will not receive any bonus from Barcelona if Bayern win Champions League

The clause in Coutinho's contract is only activated if Barcelona win the Champions League.

It was previously reported Barcelona would have to pay Liverpool €5m if Philippe Coutinho wins the Champions League with Bayern Munich.

However, The Times report that should Coutinho win the Champions League this season then Barca won't need to pay anything extra to Liverpool.

This is because the specific clause is related to Barcelona winning the competition, not just the player.

Therefore, Bayern winning the CL means nothing as far as the Reds are concerned - except that we hope they feel generous if they do manage to beat Paris Saint-Germain and let us have Thiago for a cheaper fee!
