Jose Mourinho working to bring Gareth Bale back to Tottenham

Gareth Bale's spell at Real Madrid could be coming to an end with Jose Mourinho reportedly interested in signing the Welshman.

According to Spanish outlet Deportes Cuatro, the former Madrid manager is confident that the 31-year-old is still capable of playing at the highest level.

However, the winger's massive €660,000-a-week salary (before tax) remains the biggest obstacle in negotiations between the Blancos and any interested party.

It remains to be seen whether Bale will agree to a pay cut in order to seal a move back to Tottenham where he developed into a world-class player but Mourinho is believed to be serious.
