AS Roma start negotiations with Real Madrid to sign Mayoral

The centre-forward could be off even after featuring in Madrid’s win over Real Betis on Saturday.

AS Roma have stepped up the negotiation process to sign Borja Mayoral from Real Madrid, as per reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The clubs are currently discussing final details for the deal, which seems to be very close to completion.

Mayoral is expected to sign a contract extension with Madrid before he leaves for Roma on a one-year loan with an option to buy.

The 23-year-old put in a solid effort in his cameo as a substitute for Real Madrid in our 3-2 win over Real Betis, helping win the match-winning penalty.

But with Luka Jovic now likely to stay at the club, it seems Mayoral will have to move on to the Serie A if he wants to play more regularly.
